01/13/09 - Intrathecal Chemo #3 A
Treatment 3 was uneventful, going as planned. I'm due to get treatment 4 today. My chemotherapy today will be the last of my "once every two weeks" treatments. Now, I will receive chemo once per month for six months, a grand total of ten treatments (over 8 months). I have to take a steroid for five days around my chemo treatment which greatly limits my sleep, so it will be nice to only have that interruption once per month. The hospital were I get my treatments is about an hour away via car, so it will also be nice to make that trip only once per month.
In addition to getting my chemo treatment today, I will also have my blood counts tested, and have four MRIs done (head, neck, thoracic, and lumbar (lower) spine). I'll be at the hospital most of the day... Nothing should hurt, but the tests will take some time.
